The Norwood crest was taken from the crest of the Harrogate Coat of Arms with the Norwood motto added: Gentilhomme a Jamais, Always a Gentleman. This postcard, published by Valentine's in about 1905, shows the Bandstand in the Valley Gardens, the Prospect Hotel, the White Hart Hotel and the Valley Gardens. The Harrogate motto, Arx Celebris Fortibus is included with the coat of arms.

This Norwood crest was used on stationary and the second (in centre) was the general one for blazer badges etc.

(Left) This is a sew-on badge that was used for boys attending the Great Yorkshire Show (if they were not in the Norwood Cubs or Scouts).

The Rover comic cover of 27 September,1958, issue no.1735, included the Norwood College badge as shown below. These images are very kindly provided by Vic Whittle of the web site, British Comics
It was Nick Anderson who submitted the badge to the comic's editors.
By the way, the comic cost 3d.
